Why do it? The magnesium foot soak allows you to absorb the magnesium via your skin (transdermal). This is facilitated with other elements beyond the magnesium in the foot soak. We add baking soda for the bicarbonate and borax for the boron. Together these three ingredients work together to get the magnesium into your cells where it belongs!
>> Remember to use warm water, not HOT, as you want to absorb not DETOX.
>> Alternating between magnesium sulfate and magnesium chloride is a good idea but NEVER mix the two when preparing your soaks!
>>When starting out - only soak for 5 minutes - wait a day before soaking again - you can build up your soak time based on how you feel. You can gradually build up to 20-40 minutes at a time. Alternate days until you determine your tolerance and comfort with the soaks.
>> Some people find they are sensitive to the soaks - some find them stimulating, MOST find them relaxing and help with sleep so they do them before bed. You will need to experiment for yourself! Listen to your body.
MAG foot soak basic recipe -
1 cup Epsom Salt (magnesium sulfate) OR 2 cups Magnesium Chloride flakes
1/2 cup baking soda
1 TBS Borax (20 Mule Team Borax)
